Our Story

The Forge Company came about after a run of the mill USB broke when transferring programs onto a CNC machine late at night hustling to get the job done. The failure of the thumb drive lead progress into a screeching halt. The next day while fetching a replacement, it was noticed how low quality standards are for every USB. Yeah everything is cheap, but is cheap really enough? After some research on what was the best quality and capability for the task at hand, a 3.0 256 Gigabyte USB with a billet 6061 T-6 aluminum body was built, born, and used to get work done.

Later, after a few outside opinions and the clarity of seeing how much is to gain from a attractive and strong device, it was decided to take them to market. Already having a background in engineering, machining, solving problems, and completing one off mill work. It did not take long to work though a few prototypes and make changes to the design to bring the aesthetics and ergonomics to the highest standards. Experimenting with an range of coatings and finishes left one clear choice. Type II color anodizing after a light glass bead blast to bring a consistent part finish and array of colors to make the perfect USB. This drive is for any person who cares about not just their information, but also the quality of the products they choose.

Our USB drive is named Gnosis after the feminine Greek noun for "knowledge," a no brainer for the name of a device that stores important documents and files. The Forge Company was a slightly harder name to arrive at. Our job shop has the simple symbol of Hephaestus, a bearded and lame statured figure. Being the ugliest of the Greek gods got him cast off mount Olympus for his imperfections. Hephaestus was the god of fire, a skilled blacksmith, and exceptional craftsman. He was the pinnacle of perfection for the artisan creators of ancient Greece. It seemed like the perfect name for a brand that wanted to bring the best. Although, once informed that naming a brand something that's hard to say and spell would be a problem. The name forge was decided upon, the most important tool for a blacksmith. Crafted by the gods is the standard The Forge Company strives for.
